The Gospel In Action

Mark 8:27–38

It is possible to know the right answer about Jesus and still misunderstand what it means to follow Him.

Peter declares that Jesus is the Messiah. But when Jesus begins talking about rejection, suffering, death, and resurrection, Peter pushes back. He wants Jesus to be the Messiah without the cross.

But the cross is not a detour from the gospel. It is at the center of it.

In this message, guest speaker Mike Cooper walks through three defining questions: Who is Jesus? Why did He come? And what does it mean to follow Him?

Jesus did not come to fit our expectations. He came to give His life. And He calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him.

The gospel is not merely something we believe. It becomes visible in the lives we surrender to Jesus.
