When What You Want Isn’t Enough

1 Kings 3:1–15 — God asks Solomon a question that cuts to the heart: “What do you want?” Solomon doesn’t ask for riches, power, or a long life—he asks for wisdom to lead God’s people. But even the wisest king couldn’t carry the weight of glory, riches, and fame without falling. This message traces Solomon’s story to the gospel: Jesus is the true wisdom of God, the one sacrifice more than enough, and the only one who satisfies the longings of our hearts.
