What does it mean to stand together as one?

In Philippians 1:21-30, Paul tells us that the way to defeat our enemies is through our unity. We’re not supposed to be intimidated. It’s like a sports team - when teammates stand together they’re strong and they can’t be intimidated.

What are some of our enemies? They are the things that divide us, distract, or tempt us away from living the life that is “worthy of the Good News of Christ” (verse 27). How are they defeated? By standing together as one.

That means we need to be engaged with other followers of Jesus on a regular basis. We need each other. God doesn’t act alone. He uses us to fulfill His mission on earth. We’re inviting others to join this team, this family of Jesus followers because we need each other.

We introduce people to Jesus and belong to one another.
